It’s the latest edition of JG Sports Talk with host Amiri Tulloch!
On today’s show, Amiri dissects and analyzes the lightning rod question of the 2015 NFL Draft Class: Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston’s on and off field portfolio. While there is no doubt that Winston is a top-5 pick based on his athletic skills, will he be worthy of the same distinction based on his off-field transgressions?
Additionally, Amiri tackles how the NFL’s culture towards player character has shown different methods of treating athletes with questionable personalities. Amiri cites examples such as Adrian Peterson, Ray Rice, and Aaron Hernandez.
Today’s show is guided by Winston’s attorney David Cornwell, who spoke in a panel conference at Villanova on Friday. Among other interesting tidbits from his appearance, Cornwell admitted that, “[Jameis] is ready to be an NFL player on the field. But he’s not ready to be an NFL player off the field,” and that “this league will chew you up, spit you out and keep going.”
