FIFA’s Unnecessary Turf War, LLWS’s Negative Affect: JGST Live 8/22

It’s the latest edition of JG Sports Talk with host Amiri Tulloch!

On today’s edition of the show, Amiri starts by illuminating FIFA’s unnecessary and absurd stance on artificial or grass turf in the 2015 Women’s World Cup in Canada, and explains why FIFA’s reasoning is flat-out wrong.

Next, Amiri is joined by sports podiatrist and radio host Dr. Bob Weil for another Sports Doctor is In segment. Dr. Weil talks about the pressure, specialization, and stress resulting from the Little League World Series. Dr. Bob also talks about the injury recoveries of quarterbacks in the NFL, like Cam Newton and Eli Manning, and whether the timetables are tailored to the quarterback’s strengths and weaknesses on the field.

Then, Amiri comments on the Cleveland Browns’ decision to start Brian Hoyer over Johnny Manziel at the quarterback position for week one. Amiri explains why the immaturity of Manziel is a big reason for him not starting in 2014.
